Dr. Furuyama has served as national president of the American Association of Women Dentists, the secretary of the American Association for the study of Orthodontics, and vice president of the Japanese Medical Society of America. She is also active in the New York County Dental Society Peer Review Council. She has been a speaker at various dental conventions including the Chicago mid-winter, the Greater NY conventions, and Dentaltown.
